Short chat with sis

  • Oct. 26th, 2008 at 9:39 AM

Sis: Next time when i am pregnant, i want my tummy to grow big faster
Me: Why? This way, you get more stretch marks leh. Anyway you so tall, you wun show too early.
SIs: So that people will give up seats to me :)

Me: ........... sorry, you wait long long... not all people are that considerate

----------- End ------------

Not that i want to make that statement. But i did witness a scene from the back of the stupidly structured new bus. RIght in front, an old lady boarded the bus. When she was walking along the space, she knocked herself onto the pole. Not only the nearby guys didn't help her, they didnt even give up their nearest seats to her. Wa kau right, what kind of gentlemen these are. One even pretended to look at the ceiling straight away. The old lady stood for her whole journey. :(

That being said, i wonder why SBS wants to purchase such new buses. It's disabled friendly but they have forgotten that SIngapore is also an aging society. We need MORE seats too!

F1 formula race

  • Sep. 28th, 2008 at 5:50 PM

Did you all watch this event?

I watched it for the first time on Channel 5 last night. And oh boy, my strange MOTION sickness acted up and i went giddy all over. I always get giddy when things around me moved too fast whilst i am sitting still. I think it's still better to watch on site. I shall watch no more race tonight.

Blah~~~~

Rowdy students

  • Jul. 10th, 2008 at 4:32 PM

Gone are the days where students are considerate and sweet.

The year 2 students are getting more and more rowdier, ruder and even noisier. They even make noise and play music on their phones when other classes (their seniors) are having their tests/exams right before their eyes.

I still love my Year 3 students who still have some flakes of sweetness in them. Talking to them makes me feel better and happier, as they are after all young adults.

As for the Year 2 students which i am going to teach next semester, i don't harbour much expectations from them in terms of behaviour.

I am in trouble!

  • May. 26th, 2008 at 11:00 AM

Oh no, i was so bored yesterday evening till i decided to watch the new drama series at 7.30pm Channel U. I don't usually watch korean drama series because i feel that they are very soppy compared to Japanese series.

When i saw his handsome face, i was totally captivated! Alamak, i was NEVER into korean actors especially Bae Yong Joon... but after seeing his benevolent face and cast costume, my saliva drool! ~~~~~

I even dreamt i am the female cast lying in his arms last night. Hhaaa... faint... goodbye Jet Li, think it's Yong Joon now. :P

I am going to psycho you all again.

http://viwawa.com/

I had recently joined this cute game site. There are several games in this site, and when you log into the channel, you can actually play with other players real time. You can even open private rooms to play with your friends.

I am looking for players so if you like it, you may wish to sign up. and of course, after signing up, please let me know and we can fix a time to play at night or during weekends.

My nick is yuki79 and i usually frequent the game newbie channel for Sushido and Big2.5 (Dai Di). Looking forward to play with you all!

a very cruel joke

  • Apr. 1st, 2008 at 10:52 AM

I never like April fools day. This morning, a handful of my colleagues (excluding myself) received an email from a suspicious sender whose email resembles that of our HR dept. In the email, they were informed of a huge pay adjustment which will take effect in a few months time. The amount of pay increment is pretty exaggerated.

Surprisingly, only a few of them have gotten the email, and they happen to be in the same team. Is the prankster amongst them?

What makes things worst is, this is a critical period for most of us, where a number of us are totally stressed up and on the verge of 'giving up'. If that person's main intention is to play a genuine and unforgettable April Fool's prank, i really give it to him/her; because, he/she has won. That email has really swept some of us off from our seats, especially those who have yet to receive it.

Lkg fwd to CNY 2008

wedding
It's the time of the year again. Yesh! as well as Awwww... why awww..., because it's time to clean up the whole house (not as if it's in a mess now). Thanks to our almost display-free home design. Yes, there are no more than 5 display items in our house. Can you believe it?

Wiping and cleaning of table and cupboard tops make it much easier for us. *wink*, shall continue to maintain the house this way.

Our new sofa is expected to arrive on the 28th Jan afternoon. So hoping to start the NY with a brand new sofa. I really cannot stand my current sofa ... real pathetic, totally spoil my Zen design. You can imagine how many 'plasters' we have placed on the sofa by now, till i totally give up. Dentist appointment is scheduled one week ahead of the chinese new year. So by chinese new year, i will have a new sofa and a clean set of teeth for more ba gua. (ooopsss)

Also, holidays are coming once again. This is the 'Yesh' part. 2 more weeks of classes and i will be done for this semester. I really admire those colleagues who did much less work than me, and perhaps are in fact getting the same pay as me.

Life is truly unfair huh? (As what i had always preached to the kids) But who cares, the more i care and compare with others, the more peck chek i feel. So i will just enjoy my life ;)

Christmas shopping 2007

  • Dec. 10th, 2007 at 12:49 PM

Done my christmas shopping in 2 hours yesterday. Really chop chop because i already know what to buy.

Bought gifts for exchange, bought a pair of toothpaste squeezers (for our own usage) and also a battery tester.

No pics here because it's supposed to be a surprise gift exchange for my kakis in the upcoming weekend retreat. And of course, i also went beyond the indicated budget :P

I cant wait for the day to come!!! And i pray that the weather will be clear too (at least for that weekend)..

My voice is still sexy today, but hope it will improve over the next few days. This weather is hindering the recovery process of those who are recuperating from the FLU.

Who should be the one to worry huh?

  • Nov. 4th, 2007 at 10:46 PM

I seriously wonder why i woke up feeling anxious today when i am not the one taking examinations tomorrow. Why are we always worrying for students, pushing them to graduate when all these should lie in their own hands? Why cant they just be independent and worry about their own future?

My ex-secondary school was featured in the papers today. Saw the familiar Vice-principal's name once again. The school has been steadfast in holding onto their belief and values all these years, and went all out to 'protect' their students from all sorts of 'disruptive' exposures. Not sure if this is bad or good. But being an alumni of the school, i have no objections to the principal's decision to block Boy Bands.

I feel that those students who are weak in their studies should focus on getting better grades rather than worshiping idols. And if they really idolize Boy Bands/other artiste, they could have done that after school. Kicking up a big fuss in STOMP/blogs is really too much. What will people think of the kids when they are seen in the school's uniform?

What happen to those decent students few years ago? During my primary/secondary school years, caning and scolding still exist. Students are more respectful towards their teachers and are more disciplined. Can reasoning do a better job than caning? From what i see now, i am afraid not. *shake head*

When i look at my juniors on the street now, i feel so ashamed at the way they dress and speak. I dun even want to admit that i was once from that school.

Have society deteriorates so much in values?

Life will be great..

cry
if it's not peppered by unwanted seasonings like:

1. Uncooperative colleagues
2. Students and staff who don't take assessments seriously
3. Tonnes of work

Many things happening this week as the BIG assessment draws near in the upcoming week. Let's pray that everything goes on fine without much hiccups.

Weekends at home

Problem crafting has really put on a strain on my weekend schedule. Decided to bunk at home this Saturday to complete some of the academic documents. (Wonder if it's worth my efforts... knowing that there might be changes after the review. Sigh...)

But all is not lost as yet, i've spent a reasonable amount of time with hubby, completed some tasks.

Collected our mooncakes from Prima Deli. Right, one for my parents and one for my in-laws. :)

Meaningful sunday

Not really that meaningful though.

Woke up extra early to rush through all the ironings. The clothings should last for two weeks. ^__^

Set aside sometime in the morning to meet up an ex-colleague cum existing neighbor (next block) for a morning tea. This is a good catch up after so many months. We stayed so close but we NEVER see each other around the neighborhood. It's either i got home way before she does from work or i leave home much earlier than she did for work :P

Rushed home to whipped up a fast lunch. It's been quite sometime i've last cooked a meal (if you follow my blog long enough, you will notice)

So there, our quick lunch:
